We all need a friend we can talk to about anything. But it’s not always easy to find people who are willing to open up about pretty much anything. Allow me to be that friend. This is a podcast where no topic is off-limits, and we swap judgment for aiming to understand and relate to each other. Let’s just talk about life--the messy parts, and the pretty parts, and the in-between. We’ll talk self-love, mental health, relationships, body image, and so much more! Have a topic you wanna bring on? Pitch your idea to me over on Instagram @laurenmkendrick.

Ep. 79: How to Speak up in Times of Controversy
Thursday Jun 04, 2020
Thursday Jun 04, 2020
2020 has been quite a year. One that will surely be documented in the history books. It’s only June, yet we find ourselves facing another major division in our country. We are waking up and becoming more aware of the violence and injustice against black people in our country.
I’ve found myself caught in the crossfire of having a black fiance and stepson, and a brother who is a cop. It’s been challenging for me to not only face the feelings and the reality of the world my fiance grew up in, and the one we’re raising his son in...but it’s been intimidating to speak out against it.
The fear and discomfort that I feel facing the issues is nothing compared to the discrimination and oppression that has plagued the black community for over 400 years.
For that reason, it’s vital for me to push my discomfort aside to not only educate myself, but to take action. We must not remain neutral, we must become anti-racist.
Angela Davis said, “In a racist society, it is not enough to be non-racist, we must be anti-racist.”
As a business and brand that stands for love and equality, I feel it is my duty to get involved in this conversation and to encourage you to do the same. Black Lives Matter.
And to the black people in my community: I see you, I’m here for you, and I will take action and stand alongside you as your ally.
To my fellow white allies: Here is a list of resources to help get you started. Keep in mind that there are a TON of resources out there, and this is just a very basic list.

Ep. 78: The Biggest Belief that Keeps you Stuck
Wednesday May 27, 2020
Wednesday May 27, 2020
We all have that one thing that keeps us from going after what we desire most. For many, it’s fear. Fear of failure...fear of greatness...fear of the unknown.
But where do you think the fear stems from? It comes from a very common belief. And although most of us know deep down that this belief isn’t true...we still allow it to hold us back.
So what do you think the belief is?? Listen to the episode to find out!
In this episode I not only share the #1 belief that likely keeps you stuck, but we’ll also get into the roots. Where does it come from? How can you explore the impact it makes on your own life? And most importantly...how do you move past it??
You always have the opportunity to choose again, and write a new story! At the end of the episode I offer a journal prompt, plus an exciting announcement.
And be sure to reach out to me on Instagram (@laurenmkepler) to let me know your thoughts, so I can put out more helpful content specifically tailored to you!

Ep. 76: Interview with my Fiancé
Wednesday Apr 08, 2020
Wednesday Apr 08, 2020
7 years ago I met a man that turned my world upside down. I was 22 at the time, had just given up on men (was in my "man-hating" phase) and decided to be a single independent woman living her best life.
Of course when I decided I was happy alone, I attracted a man right to me. That's how it always goes, right?? Anyway, up to that point my longest relationship had been 3 months. Most men I dated were verbally abusive cheaters, and for some reason I felt like I didn't deserve any better.
Then Jason entered the picture...he was respectful, funny, outgoing...he actually took me on dates! Early on we both figured it was just a fling & that our relationship wasn't really going anywhere. After all, we were both active duty Air Force in England at the time. He was supposed to deploy at any moment, and I had plans to separate from the military and move back to the states just a few months after we met.
Somehow the stars aligned...and here we are 7 years later about to get married. It's been a whirlwind and so much has happened since then. There were times that our relationship felt like an unreal fairytale. And times when I never thought we'd come back from some of the mistakes we made.
We were supposed to be getting married next month. Then everything went down with COVID-19, and we had to push back to October. But we didn't let that get to us, because Jason's positive outlook on life has transformed my life...and that's the exact kind of life partner I want!
We don't claim to be relationship experts AT ALL, and our relationship is far from perfect. But we wanted to share some of our life together with you in hopes that you can relate, feel more "normal", laugh with us, or get inspired.
In this episode we cover the story of how we met, what it was like for him to bring a son into the relationship, our biggest struggles as a couple (hint: Money, sex, parenting), and so much more!
Come hang out with us!

Ep. 75: Staying Positive in Uncertain Times
Wednesday Apr 01, 2020
Wednesday Apr 01, 2020
Things are more uncertain than ever before. When panic started to rise around COVID-19, I was skeptical. I was like “alright, let’s move on with our lives. How much worse could this really get??”. Aaaand then...it got worse. Much worse.
Things changed...we had to do things that most of us had never experienced in our lifetimes. As businesses began to shut down, that’s when shit got real. And here we still are, in the depths of it all.
As I look around social media for guidance (not such a great idea), I’m finding a lot of fear-based posts and information. Personally, it’s in my nature to be emotional. So seeing things like that can amp up my emotions even more. They can make me feel panic, even if I was calm before.
So I’ve really had to be mindful of my energy and what I absorb during this time. I recognize fear for what it is, and I’ve been seeking the light. That being said, I also consider myself to be a lightworker. If there was ever a time for me to step up and serve, this is it!
Which is why this week I’m bringing you an episode on how you can stay positive in uncertain times. Let me preface this by saying that I don’t believe in fake positivity. I believe there’s a time & place to feel your feelings. I also believe that it doesn’t serve anyone to stay stuck in any negative feeling or emotion.
I like the idea of moving throuuughh your emotions, and moving forward. To me, that feels like the most empowering approach. You with me on that??
If you’re looking for ways to make the best of this challenging time, I think you’ll really enjoy this episode. And just know that I’m here for you, and I’m wishing the best for you. Sending you soooo much love!

Ep. 74: Dealing with Failures & Setbacks
Wednesday Mar 25, 2020
Wednesday Mar 25, 2020
I recorded this episode about a month before everything went down with COVID-19. Before we were all confined to our homes for 30 days. And now it couldn't be more appropriate...
When something unexpected happens, or you get rejected, or you fail...when you experience a setback...what do you do about it??
So many of us fall victim to our circumstances. We roll over because we feel that we have no other choice. And when we do that, we cut ourselves off from the wonderful possibilities ahead of us.
A failure, rejection, or setback is an opportunity to slow down and re-asses. To open yourself up to something you wouldn't have seen before. It's a chance to recalibrate. It's a reason to express gratitude for all you had before, and all you continue to have.
Now more than ever, we show appreciation for certainty as we learn to embrace the unknown. And if you need support in making that happen because you aren't so comfortable with the uncertain, this episode is for you! Enjoy.

Ep. 73: My Latest Beauty Image Struggle & How I'm Coping
Wednesday Feb 19, 2020
Wednesday Feb 19, 2020
Does being a coach around self-love and body image make me immune to the struggles of it all?? Absolutely not!
I haven't openly shared a ton about my self-image struggles (I share why in the episode), but I think it's time for me to lay it all bare.
Why? Well, why do I share anything I'm going through with you? Because we're designed to grow and evolve. I share my journey with you in hopes that it teaches you or inspires you in some way.
And how can I just say "love yourself", when you don't even know whether or not I have any idea what you're going through?? How can I give you advice or guidance from a place I don't even understand?
So I'm sharing my challenges with you in this episode to let you know that if you're going through something similar, you're not alone. I also want you to know that you don't have to be stuck in that place. That there is a way to relieve some of the suffering that comes along with feelings of unworthiness.
As mentioned in the episode, here's where you can get your hands on a copy of my free Body Love Guide. Enjoy!

Ep. 72: Why I'm Taking a Break from Running Club
Monday Feb 17, 2020
Monday Feb 17, 2020
Have you ever been in a relationship that started out with sparks flying & that “just can’t get enough of you feeling”...but then somewhere down the line the fire fizzled out but you didn’t wanna face it?
That’s kinda like my relationship to running club. I started going to running club last August when I was training for my first half marathon. For the first few months, I refused to miss one meeting. I loved how I felt during and after. I couldn’t get enough.
But then somewhere along the journey...something happened. And I started dreading our weekly meetings. So I had to make the difficult decision to take a step back and reassess. Am I breaking up with running club? No. But we are on a break.
And I share this journey with you because it likely mirrors a lot of similar relationships in your life...your relationship to exercise, food, your body, your significant other, and so on.
You know I’m all about getting through the hardships, and sharing the life lessons with you along the way in hopes that you can learn something from it too.
This episode is jam-packed with wisdom nuggets! It’s easily one of my favorites of all time. Enjoy!
