We all need a friend we can talk to about anything. But it’s not always easy to find people who are willing to open up about pretty much anything. Allow me to be that friend. This is a podcast where no topic is off-limits, and we swap judgment for aiming to understand and relate to each other. Let’s just talk about life--the messy parts, and the pretty parts, and the in-between. We’ll talk self-love, mental health, relationships, body image, and so much more! Have a topic you wanna bring on? Pitch your idea to me over on Instagram @laurenmkendrick.

Do you work out consistently? If you said yes, kudos! You can move onto the next episode. If not, would you like to work out consistently? If you said no, sweet! You can move onto the next episode. But if you said YES, you are in the right place.
So we all know we should exercise for optimal health, right? But a majority of us aren’t making it happen. Why is that?? Well, I’d like to hypothesize a few reasons…
First of all, exercise is a chore. It really is, no matter how we frame it. Even though it feels good AFTER we get it done, like any other chore...talking ourselves into it is the hardest part. Building a routine of regular exercise can be really challenging too, and you have to actually try hard to keep the habit going. In other words, even for avid work outer’ers like myself...it’s never easy, but it does get easier.
I'll show you how in this episode! Along with this episode, I've created a comprehensive guide of 101 workout ideas you can try. Get your copy now by clicking right here!

Ep 32: How to Make Friends as an Introvert
Wednesday May 01, 2019
Wednesday May 01, 2019
Hello, fellow introvert! I’m so glad you’re interested in learning how to make friends...because I know you’d like to hole up by yourself most of the time, but you also understand the value of friendship and connection in your own life!
First of all...I’m a friend! I understand you, and I know how hard it can be for you to open up to others sometimes. Especially when it’s so easy to stay bundled up in your comfort zone, and live in your head. But we’ve been given these beautiful bodies so we can venture out into the world and enjoy the physical human experience!
For me, the difficult part about making friends is that most of the time I’d rather be alone. So I struggle to build friendships that I’m actually consistently present in. Especially if I have more than like, 5 friends at once. Because I’m good with like 1-2 social events per month.
The reason that the idea of having friendships in my life became so important to me is because I learned how vital it is to my health and happiness. Also, once I learned to express my feelings instead of bottling them up, I learned the value of talking to someone, especially another woman that understands my experience and can relate to what I’m going to.
Now the common misconception is that introverts are shy. But that’s not always the case--we’re often just big thinkers. So while we may not be shy, we may come across as socially awkward because it’s hard for us to pull ourselves out of our heads, and into the present moment. It takes some intention for sure!
Often times, we are shy as well. I can be a mixture of both, but I think we’re all shy in some situations. But most of the time I just find my own company to be more enjoyable than the company of someone else.
That’s why as an introvert, it’s important for me to form strong, meaningful connections with people that fill my cup more often than not, instead of draining my energy and wanting a shallow type of connection.
So in this episode, I’ll teach you my top 5 tips for making friends as an introvert!

Ep. 31: What to do if your Feelings of Unworthiness are Holding you Back
Wednesday Apr 24, 2019
Wednesday Apr 24, 2019
Ladies--we need to talk. I see so many of you beautiful creatures out there beating yourselves up, demeaning yourselves, and breaking your own self down.
This is not okay!! I think as women especially, we’re held to such a high standard. We’re supposed to be classy in the streets, but trashy in the sheets. We’re expected to be kind, but not too kind because then we’d be a pushover. Oh, but if we’re too “unkind”, we might be labeled as a bitch. We’re supposed to look pretty, but not like we’re trying too hard, because then someone might call us a slut.
Will all this pressure put on us, what are we supposed to do?? Who are we supposed to be?
I’m willing to bet that you are too hard on yourself. That you expect A LOT from yourself, but you never feel like you really measure up. Maybe when you were growing up, you were told that you weren’t enough. Or you saw your dad treat your mom like she wasn’t enough. Or you internalized all the messaging out there about how a woman should look, act, feel, etc.
Are you overthinking everything you do? Do you leave conversations and replay everything that was said in your mind, and cringe at all the times you felt like you said the “wrong” thing? Are you thinking to yourself “I was too pushy” or “did I talk to much?” or “does he/she even like me??”
Your feelings of unworthiness can be so paralyzing that you might be having a hard time expressing yourself, or being honest about your needs, or becoming the woman you desire to be.
I SEE you, and I know what you’re going through. I struggled with feeling unworthy (and still do sometimes) because of the things I was told when I was a young girl. The hurtful words have burned in my mind and held me back for wayyy too long.
Those words are still deeply ingrained in my mind, and I’ve had to do a ton of mindset work to move past them. I’ve had to REALLY work hard on changing that script so that someone else’s judgment doesn’t determine how I live my life.
So if you’re feeling unworthy right now, how can you move forward? How can you begin to feel more worthy?
I'll teach you in this episode!

Ep. 23: 3 Unconventional Ways to Build Habits that Actually Stick
Wednesday Feb 27, 2019
Wednesday Feb 27, 2019
How many times have you told yourself that you were going to start working out, or eating healthy, or finally tackle that cleaning project you’ve been avoiding forever?
How many times have you actually followed through? I imagine the story goes a little something like this...you start to notice that your pants are getting a little tighter. You feel more and more uncomfortable in your body by the day...but you ignore it. You assume that if you ignore it, it will just go away. Until one day, you find yourself screaming at your spouse and kids...and you’re not exactly sure why you’re so upset.
Until you dig a little deeper and realize that you haven’t really been taking care of yourself. And it’s taking a toll on your relationships, and your self-esteem. You decide it’s time to make a change! You make the declaration to start working out 5 days a week, cut out gluten, sugar, carbs, oh and while you’re at it, you might as well start drinking a gallon of water a day.
At first, you’re motivated and excited! You think to yourself, “this time will be different! I’m tired of living this way”. For the first week or two, you’re on it! You sweat your booty off in those hour long gym sessions. You declare on Instagram “I cut out gluten, sugar, and carbs and I’ve never felt more energized!”, you carry your gallon jug around as a badge of honor for your new healthy lifestyle.
But then...the inevitable happens.
Life kicks in. Your kid gets sick. Or you get in a fight with a spouse or friend and it totally throws you off. Suddenly, your new habits are the first thing to go out the window. And your back to square one. Not only are you back to square one, but you’re also pissed at yourself. How could you let this happen again? When will you actually follow through with what you say you’ll do? Why can’t you just get it together?
I hear you, my friend. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been in this position. And how many times I felt like I was treading water, and never actually making progress. I thought it was my lack of willpower or motivation that was holding me back. WRONG. So wrong. It was actually the way I was approaching my goals and resolutions that was keeping me stuck. Thankfully, I’ve been through it and come out on the other side (more victoriously than I ever could have imagined, might I add!) and I’m here to help you beat habit building overwhelm so you can actually become the person you know you’re capable of being, and create the life of your dreams.
Wanna know how to become your ideal self, and live the life you dream of?
Listen to the episode & I'll guide you through a few of the most impactful ways you can start to build life changing habits right now.
